Dr. Víctor A. de la Peña O´Shea is Head of the photoactivated processes Unit at IMDEA Energy Institute. He obtained his PhD in 2003 at Universidad Autonoma de Madrid and Catalysis and Petrochemistry Institute-CSIC. In 2004, he was awarded with a “Juan de la Cierva” fellowship at the Barcelona University. Since 2008, he was awarded with a “Ramon y Cajal” fellowship and started his scientific career at the IMDEA Energy Institute. His research interest is focused on different aspects of Energy production and storage technologies covering a wide range of experience on: 1) Design and synthesis of multifunctional materials, 2) Advanced in-operando characterization combined with theoretical calculations and 3) Construction of automatized reactors form lab to pilot plant scale. He is co-author of more than 150 publications (h= 41), 6 book chapters, 6 patents and more than 170 contributions to scientific congresses Besides, he has participated in more than 30 research projects funded by different institutions, including ERC-Consolidator Grant, ERC-PoC, FET-Proact, Fundación Ramón Areces and FET CSA-Flagship among others. Moreover, he has several contracts with chemical and energy companies such as Repsol, Abengoa, Acciona, and Daimler Mercedes, among others. He is Vice-president of the Spanish CO2 Technology Platform, President of the Grupo especializado de energía y sostenibilidad de la RSEQ, Coordinator of the Spanish Solar Fuels Network.
